An I’m not sure that we should have it all figured out (or even part of it all) at this quarter of a century mark. Let’s say we did… what’s the other 3 quarters of a century for?

all I can say to all of that is amen. and that you and I are in the same boat. we are extraordinary. and we will never settle. so we are blessed and cursed. we could be stupider and have easier lives. but we aren’t. and I don’t think I would have it any other way.

All I could think of when reading this was 16 Candles. You know, the part where Sam tells her dad that she has a crush on Jake Ryan and he says “if this guy can’t see all the beautiful, wonderful things I see, then he’s got the problem…and when it happens to you it will be forever”.

So yeah, maybe Jake Ryan and his hot red porsche, and his adorable sweater vest, and his chuck taylors will just show up outside your sister’s wedding and return your panties…or some variation thereof.

and I can assure you that it will happen when you least expect it. and when it does you won’t be able to get “if you were here” by the thompson twins out of your head.

After reading all of this, I’ve decided, you and I are never allowed to be in successful, wonderful, working, end all, be all relationships, because our writing turns to crap once we leave our wonderful stage of bitter, jaded, misunderstood malcontent.
